AIA has won the competition for the new CEM Marina, promoted by Barcelona City Council and Bimsa

The project includes 4,500 m2 of building and therefore is designed as an addition to the existing sports center. The proposal includes for the creation of a new 25-meter swimming pool with changing rooms on the ground level, an access and main hall for the entire facility, gym changing rooms on first floor, and two floors of rooms for sports and activities. The outdoor deck turns into a new activity zone at the same time.

A skin that blends opaque, filtering, and translucent panels enables for the permeable dialogue between the inside and the public space in a concept for a healthy, economical, functional, and versatile building.
