Reform and expansion of the Duran and Reynals’ Hospital
Since the beginning of the year, the Duran y Reynals’ Hospital has a new renovated and expanded lobby. From AIA we have designed the project and, together with the architect Alex Lopez-Grado, we have carried out the construction management.
The reform has consisted of its expansion by building a new access façade, generating a brighter space. With this intervention, the spaces, including the cafeteria on the first floor, which has also been expanded, have become a more quality environment with a coherent relationship with the exterior. The intervention has also included the external access area, generating meeting and rest areas, and the administrative box area attached to the lobby.
The new lobby is planned as a square, where the soft textures of wood and stone, together with the vegetation, are protagonists, generating an atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
