This project is the result of the competition for the construction of a sports building composed of a 25x12.5m swimming pool and a multipurpose pavilion with 3 spaces for different gymnastic activities.
Made in conjunction with Garcés-Bonet-de Seta, its volumetric shape reminds us of the old bellows cameras. We took advantage of this geometry to generate its relationship with the environment. The illumination is exterior and natural, being the same structure of rhomboidal porticos that allows it by its form. A simple conception where the form and the architectural concept are reduced to a single element: the rhomboidal portico capable of achieving the structural lights that these types of equipment require.
Moreover, its geometry allows us to fit the programme and becomes a real channel of communication of all the technical elements: ventilation, electricity, etc. During the daytime, the pavilion captures the exterior light and, at night, it becomes a lamp accentuating its double skin. The façade combines elements of polycarbonate and wood slats, that allow a good management of energy capture to its interior.
