Located on the same site as the current pavilion, the proposal presents a lightweight building with polycarbonate facades and a wooden structure creating a volume that "rises" above the Itaca and Lissieux schools. The new facility contains two courts located on two levels, one above the other. A green façade facing south over the courtyard of the schools is incorporated to protect the pavilion from the sun and to give a friendlier and more welcoming appearance to what is now a very hard built complex.
The location of the building in relation to the urban space allows us to create a square/lobby as an access to the sports centre from a porch where the interior and exterior space enrich each other. At the same time, we enhance the relationship between the project and the interior space of the Diagonal Island and the gardens of San Juan de Manantial through the openings that we propose for the new pavilion. The construction is entirely dry and sustainable materials and concepts are the backbone of the project.
