On the occasion of the international exhibition Piscina&Wellness Barcelona 2018, we were commissioned to design the main pavilion of the exhibition, which consisted of the creation of a real wellness space that would be in operation during the fair.
A project of ephemeral conception, which aimed to quickly capture the attention of the visitor thanks to the surprise factor. A pavilion with a warm and welcoming nature, build with materials such as wood, fabrics, polycarbonate and vegetation, easy and quick to assemble. The lightning is based on strips of LEDs hidden in the different walls, thus framing the structure.
The main idea was to generate a change of atmosphere from the Fira de Barcelona’s industrial premises, which are cold in character. The goal of the space was to attract and to be approachable for the visitor in order to discover Wellness with its treatments and products, disassociating the pavilion from the unfriendly environment and bringing the visitor closer to a scale of comfort. The project is based on a modular structure that allowed flexibility in the distribution of the spaces, while they were organised through a longitudinal green courtyard/rambla that acted as the centre for the users and as the backbone of the different rooms.
